Leighton Meester: Detaching Her Spoiled Princess Shadow As She Shapes Her New Career As A Musician
Born in April 9, 1986, "Leighton Marissa Meester" is an American actress and singer. She becomes a household name when she played the role of Blair Waldorf in the teen drama series "Gossip Girl." She also has some appearances in "Country Strong" (2010), "The Oranges" (2011), "Monte Carlo" (2011) and "That's My Boy" (2012).
Recently, "Meester" also tried the music industry. She released two singles, recorded songs for numerous soundtracks and teamed up with a number of artists, being remarkably featured on "Good Girls Gone Bad" of Cobra Starship. Meester's musical style has since transformed from pop to folk. She had a mini tour back in 2012 with Check in the Dark.
Along with other cast of Gossip Girls, she was one of People's magazine's 100 Most Beautiful People. She was also a part of Maxim's Hot 100 list starting from 2008 to 2011. Meester also have a high ranking on AskMen.com and made it to their list of Top 99 Women of 2010 and 2011.
Many might be surprised of her transformation from "Gossip Girl" to guitar girl. She is seen to grow from a chic Park Avenue royalty to amazing singer at New York performance. Although she got really famous with her fashionista role as social queen Blair Waldorf, she rapidly detaching her spoiled princess shadow as she shapes her new career as a musician.
Meester took the stage at a Meet The Musician event held at the Apple Store in New York. With her guitar and casual attire, she still looks great but much different from how people usually saw her. She entertained the crowd and she gave them a free gig as well as Q&A session. At that gig, she was able to not just her natural pretty face but her golden voice as well. Many have noticed how Meester look devoted to giving her all on the stage and share her music to the fans.
As she left after her amazing performance, she was surrounded by her avid fans that had assembled outside to catch a glance of her. Meester could not hide her happiness with her newest success.
