Sony PS4 Update News and Updates: New and Exciting Features of Sony's Masamune Soon to be Available for Gamers
In a recent event with Gamescom, Sony had introduced the Sony Playstation 4 Software Update a.k.a Masamune.
The Japanese company mentioned in August that the Software update will feature Share Play 'online local co-op experience', broadcast and video sharing, a dedicated app for YouTube, a What's New feature with a new real-time activity tracker and friends-of-friends suggestions, and real name search, this is according to NDTV Gadgets.
In addition to that, Sony also declared recently that, the PS4 system software 2.00 update would also include the much-requested USB Music Player feature. Upon inserting USB storage media with music files, the USB Music Player will pop-up, and enable users to play music in the background and while playing a game. Supported filename extensions include mp3, mp4, m4a, and 3gp. However, there is a drawback as music still cannot be saved into the built-in HDD or using the player at the same time as Music Unlimited.
On top of that, the PS4 system software 2.00 update will give users the ability and the freedom to choose background colors. It is said to include the following colors: gold, blue, red, green, purple, pink, and grey.
The software update has still a lot to offer as what we see below:
- 'Players You May Know' feature in the What's New section
- Improvements to PS4 live broadcasting
- Redesigned Content Area
- Improved voice commands
- The ability to 'Add to Library' button to the PlayStation Store. These allows users to add the game to their library without actually downloading.
These top features were announced by SCEA's Director, Product Planning & Software Innovation, Scott McCarthy via a blog he posted.
With all these features, fans are very excited for the upcoming Sony PS4 Update release date. We will keep you posted on any Sony PS4 Update news and updates.
