Windows 9 Release Date in USA: Microsoft Ditched That Name Long Ago
It has been over two years since Microsoft had announced an operating system upgrade for desktops and laptops. After the inferior Windows Vista and Windows 7 performance, many were expecting something that can compete with the success of Windows XP a decade ago. Rightfully, Windows 8 proved to be the milestone Microsoft had been looking for, but now users expect something more that can take over the loopholes and compete with ultra advanced operating systems like OS X Yosemite from Apple.
Fans were expecting a Windows 9 release date from a couple of months, but it seems that Microsoft has ditched that name and now they have named the next update Windows 10. There were mysteriously no details on the decision. Interestingly, according to Breath Cast along with other major technology websites, there is a lot of work pending on this operating system and the release date cannot be expected before late 2015.
So, why did Microsoft hurried into announcing a new operating system when they knew that it cannot be launched for over a year? Market experts believe that users have been asking the same question for over a long time and the new CEO Satya Nadella felt obliged to make an announcement on the proceedings in Windows 10 development.
Meanwhile, there are lot of rumors on possible features and pricing of this new operating system. It is believed to look and feel more like Windows 7 with Snap Function and Applications along with Task View. Of course, the designers will work hard on creating a new interactive layout with a lot of colors and fluidic animation; they will be working close to what X Yosemite has to offer on Mac. According to rumors, Microsoft headquarters is quite impressed with OS X and wants to surpass that standard, hence pushing back the release date for a new operating system.
As far as the prices are concerned, Tech Advisor UK believes that Microsoft might not even ask for money for an update from Windows 8 to Windows 9. For other updates, however, the cost will be close to what Windows 8 is being sold at currently.
