Apple iWatch vs Microsoft SmartWatch: Technology Face-off, Dawn of Smartwatches
Microsoft's new wearable device, Microsoft Smartwatch, is expected to release within just a few weeks in time for the holiday season. The said Microsoft Smartwatch will go against the Apple Watch, but the latter will only be released Q1 of next year.
Aside from the early release date advantage of Microsoft Smartwatch, the company boasts the wearable device's longer battery life than Apple's Apple Watch.
Asingle charge of the Microsoft Smartwatch can last for two whole days, iDigital Times reported. It is certainly better than other smartwatches available on the market, which only last for nearly just a day if fully charged.
The Microsoft Watch also has the capability to track and record the user's heart rate, it also features mobile platform flexibility for other mobile operating systems.
Features are almost the same as Apple Watch's, plus added accelerometers and GPS tracking. The Apple Watch will be featuring Apple Pay.
Design wise, the Apple Watch will be made of aluminum with a reinforced Ion-X glass cover. The Apple Watch Edition will feature an outrageous 18-karat gold model, including a sapphire crystal cover for the smartwatch.
The Microsoft Smart Watch will be made out of Oxynitride Aluminum, which is comprised of 80 percent translucent aluminum that is reported to be harder than glass for four times. Different colored wristbands will also be available.
Microsoft Smartwatch's price will also be considerably cheaper than the Apple Watch. While Apple's smartwatch price range starts at an expensive 350 U.S. dollars. Up to a rather unbelievable 5,000 U.S. dollars, the Microsoft Smartwatch is expected to be in the ranges of 200 U.S. dollars up to 300 U.S. dollars only, according to Business Insider,
This puts the Microsoft Smartwatch at a more profitable market when the time comes.
As said in Gotta Be Mobile, the Apple Watch will only be compatible with other Apple products, this can greatly reduce its potential buyers.
On paper, the Microsoft Smartwatch beats the Apple Watch out of the water, especially in terms of money value. The Apple Watch is rumored to be released after 2015's Valentine's Day, while the Microsoft Smartwatch is reported to be releasing in a few more weeks.
