'Assassin's Creed Rogue' Release Date: 'AC Rogue' is Coming to Town in November 2014
"Assassin's Creed Rogue" is an upcoming historical action-adventure single-player game. It also serves as the eight installment in the "Assassin's Creed" series and the successor to 2013's "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag". The game is also linked to 2012's "Assassin's Creed III" and 2014's "Assassin's Creed Unity".
The game is set between 1752 and 1761 in the mid-18th century during the Seven Years' War and will take place in different locations in North America, such as the frozen North Altlantic, the Appalachian River Valley, Albama, New York, and Quebec. It follows Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assassin-turned-Templar.
As for the gameplay, "Assassin's Creed Rogue" will have a resemblance to the "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag", blending the ship-naval exploration with the third person land-based exploration. The player will be controlling Cormac's ship, Morrigan. As compared to Edward Kenway's Jackdaw from the "Assassin's Creed IV: Flack Flag", Morrigan has a shallower draft, which enables river travel. Enemy assassins possess skills from the previous games such as the ability to hide in bushes, blend in with crowds, and perform air attacks against the player. Enemies can also board Morrigan in ship-to-ship battle.
The ship-naval environment comes with ship-based weapons such as an oil slick which can be ignited, puckle guns, grenade launcher, and the introduction of an air rifle. The air rifle is a long range weapon that enables the player to silently snipe enemies from afar. The player can also use a grenade launcher, which fires off other loads and shrapnel grenade.
Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, "Assassin's Creed Rogue" will be exclusive for PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. The action-adventure game is set to be released on November 11, 2014, together with "Assassin's Creed Unity". The game will also be available for PC in 2015, as per "Assassin's Creed Rogue" creator, Ubisoft, as revealed in Franchise Herald.
Ubisoft spokesperson said a teaser statement in Eurogamer. "Yes, the PC version is coming out early 2015. PC fans who enjoyed "Assassin's Creed 3" and "Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag" will be able to discover the missing links between these two epic stories with "Assassin's Creed Rogue"," the spokesperson said.
The game is quite unlikely to reach new-generation game consoles like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to Breathecast. A game developer did not give any information as to whether Ubisoft has future plans on making a version of "Assassin's Creed Rogue" for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, the said game developer made a statement in IGN. "We can't talk about this right now," the developer said.
