Resident Evil: Revelations 2, To Be Released In Four Weekly Installments Beginning Early 2015
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is scheduled for an early 2015 release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC according to game developer and publisher Capcom. Set between the events of 'Resident Evil 5' and 'Resident Evil 6,' it will feature vigilante Claire Redfield as the game's main protagonist. She, along with Barry Burton's daughter Moira, will be shown exploring an abandoned island facility. The upcoming Resident Evil: Revelation 2 will initially be released in four weekly individual episodes over the course of one month. Each episode will cost $5.99. There is also an option to buy a Season Pass covering all four episodes for $24.99. Following the release of the last episode, a full, disc-based version will then be launched, available st the price of $39.99. Capcom promises that both the digital Season Pass and the disc-based version will also entitle buyers to access to other bonus content.
According to the developer's promo, the game starts with Claire welcoming newbie Moira into the anti-bioterror organisation 'Terra Save.' As reported by Eurogamer, Capco writes in the teaser: "But in true RE fashion it's not long before trouble finds our heroes. The party is crashed, Claire and Moira are knocked unconscious and taken to a mysterious detention center located on an island. They soon encounter demented, writhing enemies called Afflicted roaming the halls of this abandoned facility, and have to team up to survive. The real question is, who brought them here? And... why?"
Richard Eisenbeis of Kotaku who was among those who got to see the demo revealed more about the upcoming survival horror video game. Said he: "Resident Evil Revelations 2 is not a direct sequel story-wise to the first Resident Evil Revelations. Instead, it is a thematic sequel, calling back to not only the original Revelations but the classic games as well. You move through cramped, spooky areas while confronting zombie-like creatures singly or in small groups. Ammo conservation is important, as is finding keys to the myriad of locked doors....At any time during the demo, you can switch between Claire and Moira with the press of a button-and you will need to switch often...."
