American Idol's Kelly Clarkson Readies Her Most Inspiration New Album for 2015
American Idol champion Kelly Clarkson is readying her brand new as yet untitled album for 2015. The album will be her most positive album with songs to uplift the soul and give empowerment for the discouraged.
At a recent press conference, the "Breakway" singer jokes: "It's amazing. And you're going to love it. You're gonna be like, 'This is right on up there with John Lennon, 'Imagine.' [I] guaran-damn-tee it!
"It's not 'Imagine.' Sarcasm!" she adds, setting the record straight. "But we can aim!"
Clarkson hasn't released an all-new, non-holiday, album since 2011′s "Stronger." "Stronger" has produced three singles, including the international hits "Mr. Know It All" and "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)." "Mr. Know It All" topped the charts in Australia and South Korea and has attained top-ten positions in four countries, including Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
"Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" became the album's most successful release and Clarkson's most successful single overall. It topped the charts in the United States, Poland, Denmark, and Slovakia and has attained top-ten positions in over twenty countries around the world. The final single, "Dark Side", was released to moderate success, attaining a top-ten position in three countries. Clarkson has promoted Stronger in two concert tours, the Stronger Tour and the 2012 Summer Tour with American alternative rock band, The Fray.
As for the new album, it is going to contain "a little bit of everything" music-wise. "It's an uplifting record. I've always been a person about empowerment and doing empowering songs," she says. "There's empowering songs on the record and there's a lot of positive on there."
"There's all kinda of genres," the Nashville-based singer says when asked if it will be a more pop- or country-focused release. "I'm obviously affected by the community I live in so there's a little bit of everything. It's a great record."
A release date for the album has not yet been announced.
