Natalie Grant and Charlotte Gambill's Dare to Be 2014 Sold-Out Event Tour Ministers To Thousands of Women Nationwide
The Dare to Be...The Journey Continues 2014 nationwide event tour wrapped this past weekend after selling out nine of the 13 events and ministering to nearly 17,000 women. During the course of the event tour almost 1,500 of those women came forward, making a commitment to Christ. The inspirational event featured Grammy® nominated vocalist Natalie Grant and international speaker, Bible teacher and author Charlotte Gambill. Dare to Be honored 13 extraordinary female role models from each local city who are a perfect example of someone who has "Dared to Be" something more than her circumstance. This honoree moment is an important part of the event because Grant and Gambill recognize local women who are making a difference in their own communities simply by not letting their circumstance define them and becoming an encouragement to others in the process. Honorees ranged from recovering addicts who have turned their lives around, to women who have overcome illness, to an incredible woman whose husband (Pastor Saeed Abedini) is held captive overseas.
"In 2014, God took my breath away as thousands of women across the USA came to dare to be," said Charlotte. "Women of all ages and backgrounds came and were willing to step off the edge of their comfort zone and step into God's ocean of possibilities. I have never been more excited about what is unfolding as every woman who dared to burn bright will become someone's light in the darkness. The real adventure of 'daring to be' is just getting started."
A Dare to Be simulcast is planned for September 13, 2014 for those who were not able to make a live event and for those who went to the live event and want to share the experience with others.
"I am blown away at what God accomplished through Dare To Be this year," said Natalie. "It was so much more than an event; it was an evening of transformation. Thousands came to make a decision to follow Jesus and thousands more were challenged to dare to believe that they are who God says that they are. Stories of marriages, families, hopes and dreams being restored is what Dare To Be is all about."
Since the 2014 tour launch in January, the Dare to Be movement has sparked a wildfire of women taking risks and stepping out of their comfort zones across the country. Women who attended the conference said they were encouraged to Dare to Be more healthy, compassionate, confident, strong in their faith, trusting, courageous and more.
"This was my first time attending Dare to Be," said Carmen Brown, The JOY FM, program director and The Morning Cruise. "I've attended lots of women's events before and typically know what to expect. However, Natalie and Charlotte have brought a fresh approach to gathering women together to worship, challenge and encourage. Charlotte's teachings were spot on, and of course, who can top Natalie's vocals? The evening was intimate, refreshing, hopeful and recharging. I loved every minute!"
"The whole thing was incredible. I think the best part for me was attending with my mother, who is very much in the 'middle' in many areas of her life. Seeing her struggle while hearing such truths was inspiring. She hasn't stopped talking about it since." - 2014 Attendee
"I love that Natalie and Charlotte share their hearts and wisdom in an effort to help people achieve all that they can be in Christ, without judgment. Natalie and Charlotte are very welcoming, honest, transparent and wise. I look forward to the next Dare to Be event!" - 2014 Attendee
Abolition International served as the presenting sponsor for the Dare to Be event tour this year. Abolition International was founded by Natalie in 2005 and is making a difference in the lives of human trafficking victims by advocating for quality care, education and awareness.
"It has been a pleasure to partner with Dare to Be to raise awareness on the issue of sex trafficking and help bring hope to the many who are still enslaved," said Stacia Freeman, president and executive director, Abolition International. "We pray that those who learned about this issue will continue to engage through prayer and partnership until people all over the world experience freedom from bondage & slavery is eradicated forever."
