Carrie Underwood Leaps Back to #1 on the Christian Chart with "Something in the Water"

Carrie Underwood makes a frog leap back to #1 on Billboard's Christian chart. In the tracking week following the appearance (ending April 14), the song gained by 108 percent to 12,000 sold, according to Nielsen Music, and vaults 5-1 on Christian Digital Songs. The ballad spends its 23rd week at No. 1 on the list, and first since March 28, 2015; it debuted at No. 1 on Oct. 18, 2014, and has sold 1.1 million to date.
Underwood returned to help close out the Fox series' 15-season run April 7 with an emotional performance of her 2014 hit "Something in the Water" helped propel the song back to its #1 position. "Something," which Underwood co-wrote, logged 26 weeks atop Hot Christian Songs in 2014-15. Only Hillsong United's "Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)" has spent more time at No. 1: 61 weeks.
"Something in the Water" is taken from her first greatest hits album, Greatest Hits: Decade #1. The song was released on September 29, 2014, as the album's lead single through Arista Nashville. It was written by Underwood, Chris DeStefano, Brett James and produced by Mark Bright.
