Gospel Hip-Hop Artist Dee Black Launches Independent Recording Imprint HISStory Music Group

Gospel hip-hop artist Dee Black has been blessed with a new opportunity. Formally with Sony RED, he's been guided to create a new road in the recording industry. He won't travel its path alone.
Black has officially launched HISstory Music Group, an independent recording imprint aiming to set the standard for gospel-orientated lyrical excellence. Its first release, a singled titled "Uno" by gifted lyricist Mouthpi3ce, is available as a free download on IAmHISstory.com on June 2, 2016; his full-length HMG debut, titled The Spectacle, is projected to release Q4 2016.
"I felt there's a gap in the genre we do, and it doesn't have a focus on lyrical excellence centered around the gospel," Black says. "Our main goal is to have [our music] centered around the gospel but at the same time create something that has a spirit of excellence with its lyrics, its music, everything."
The spirit began its course with Black's own album releases, 2010's The Book of Life and 2013's The Book of Life: Red Ink.
Black's most recent single, "GOD" featuring Dre Murray and Eris Ford, was released to iTunes and Amazon on November 24, 2015. It serves as a precursor to his next LP release, one with no creative hindrance.
"I parted with Sony RED because we had differences in opinions, creative differences," Black says. "My next album will be released after Mouthpi3ce."
What HISstory is aiming to achieve as a company "is to make a statement, to have a place in the industry that sets a standard for doing business with integrity," Black says. "We plan to bring a new standard to the industry as a whole."
