Brooke Fraser Releases Her Fourth Single in a Row "The Dead Don't Dance"
Singer, songwriter and worship leader Brooke Fraser has released her single "The Dead Don't Dance," the fourth of four new singles. "The Dead Don't Dance" is taken from her upcoming EP IV Fridays.
"The Dead Don't Dance" is is the follow-up single after the Albertine singer released "St. Petersburg," "Equator" and "Human," all of which were released in the last subsequent three Fridays. These new songs will be the singles in a series of four singles, all of which will be released this month.
The new tracks see a new musical direction for the Wellingtonian songstress, while still showcasing her knack for emotional lyrics and delicate vocals. The tracks have a darker, more experimental, and cosmic sound in comparison to pop hits like "Something in the Water."
Artwork for the single was commissioned by Wellington illustrator Gina Kiel, who Fraser says will design artwork for all four songs.
Fraser is known as the songwriter of many Hillsong worship songs including "The Transfiguration," "Hosanna," "Our Father," "Desert Song" and many others. She has released two studio albums What to Do with Daylight (2003) and Albertine (2006) through Columbia Records before signing a recording contract with Wood + Bone.
Her third studio album, Flags was released in 2010 and it's her most successful album to date. Her most recent album, Brutal Romantic, was released in November 2014 through Vagrant Records. She is one of the top selling and most popular New Zealand recording artists of all time: her albums were certified 15× Platinum.
