Alan Jackson & Boyz II Men Join Chris Young on "It Must be Christmas"
Country music singer and songwriter Chris Young will be releasing his first ever Christmas album on October 14. Released via RCA Nashville Records, the new album "It Must be Christmas" will feature Alan Jackson singing with Young the country Christian yuletide classic "There's a New Kid in Town." Mixing up the genres, Young will also sing wiith his heroes R&B group Boyz II Men. Corey Crowder will serve as producer and co-writer of a few original cuts on the record.
"We are making a Christmas record," Young says. "I am so excited. You guys know Christmas is one of my favorite times of year. I have so many Christmas songs I want to do, it was hard to narrow it down to this album."
Fans can pre-order a limited number of autographed copies of the album on Amazon. Additionally, gift packages are available for order at Young's website, and they include everything from a Christmas ornament to an It Must Be Christmas long-sleeve T-shirt, a fleece lined winter blanket and more.
Young has been popular in country music circles since he won Nashville Star in 2006, but his career has been on a remarkable upswing since he released his most recent album, I'm Comin' Over, in 2015. The album has scored two back-to-back No. 1 hits with its title song and "Think of You," a duet with Cassadee Pope. Its third single, "Sober Saturday Night," features Vince Gill.
"I will definitely have more and more news as we get closer to time," he says. "Obviously, I'm just happy that this year will be the first year that you guys can put an entire Christmas album of mine in the CD player, or on your iPhone, wherever you listen to music. I'm pumped."
