Anthony Brown & group therAPY Make Impressive Debuts with "Trust in You"

Anthony Brown & group therAPY make chart history this week. Their latest single "Trust in You" is their first top 10 debut on the Billboad Hot Gospel song chart. This is also their third top 10 overall. The song opens at No. 7. The Brown-written "Trust" also marks the group's first No. 1 debut, and second total leader, on Gospel Digital Song Sales (2,000). "Worth" has tallied 33 weeks at No. 1 (and currently ranks at No. 6).
Previously, Brown and his team ruled at #1 for eight weeks in 2015 with "Worth." "Trust," the first single from the forthcoming album A Long Way From Sunday, pushes 22-18 on Gospel Airplay.
Son of a well-known Baltimore, MD area pastor, Brown formed the group Answered Prayers in 2000 as a showcase for his songwriting skills. His early songs were recorded by a number of artists such as Maurette Brown Clark who earned a #1 hit with his tune "It Ain't Over" in 2006. He later changed the ensemble's name to group therAPy with the capitalized AP as a reference to its previous name. The group's self-titled debut album premiered in 2012 and spawned the Top 5 radio smash "Testimony" that spent an unprecedented 74 weeks on the Billboard Magazine Gospel AirPlay chart, a chart record.
