Rick Lang Announces a Star-Studded Bluegrass Gospel Album
New Hampshire songwriter Rick Lang's latest bluegrass Gospel project, Gonna Sing, Gonna Shout, is replete with the talents of a cadre of music's luminaries. The collection will be released by Billy Blue Records, the bluegrass scene's newest record label.
With over 80 songs recorded in his award-winning career, Lang chose Jerry Salley, Creative/A&R Director of Billy Blue Records, to produce the multi-artist project. The stellar lineup of bluegrass, country, and Gospel stars lending their talents to deliver Lang's original songs includes Dave Adkins, High Road, Marty Raybon, The Whites, Claire Lynch, Bradley Walker, Cox Family, Kenny and Amanda Smith, Larry Cordle, and Jerry Salley.
"I am beyond grateful that so many of my favorite singers offered to bring their talents to this project. It is a blessing in my life," Lang says. "Jerry was masterful in overseeing every aspect from beginning to end. I owe a debt of gratitude to everyone who was involved in the making of this album."
Rick has released six studio albums of his own to date. Each has featured all-original Rick Lang compositions. His first Christmas release, The Season Of My Heart (2003), was voted one of the Top 25 Albums of the Year by the National Folk Radio survey. Lang's 2010 Gospel CD, Look To The Light (Rural Rhythm Christian, RRC), was nominated for both a GMA (Gospel Music Association) Dove Award and the IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) Gospel Recorded Event of the Year honor.
"Spreading the Holy Word of God through my songwriting and music is one of my life's greatest priorities," Lang says. "I sincerely hope that folks enjoy listening to each and every song on Gonna Sing, Gonna Shout."
Rick is a graduate of the IBMA Leadership Bluegrass Class of 2012, currently chairs the IBMA Songwriter Committee and is active in the IBMA Songwriter Mentor Program.
Billy Blue Records, and its companion Americana label, Billy Jam Records, are recently formed imprints of Daywind Music Inc., overseen by multi-award-winning songwriter, Jerry Salley, who was appointed by Ed Leonard, President of Daywind Music Group.
"The opportunity to produce this collection of Rick's music has been an absolute honor," Salley says. "Working with Rick and capturing his vision for the project has been a true highlight in my producing career. We worked hard to match each artist with the perfect song. I can't thank Rick enough for asking me to be a part of this very special recording."
Gonna Sing, Gonna Shout is slated for release on November 16, 2018.
