Darlene Zschech, Casting Crowns, Sanctus Real & Others Reflect on Good Friday & Easter

Good Friday and Easter are the most important events in the life of the Christian and the church. This is the weekend where we celebrate the death of Jesus Christ and his resurrection. As we pause to give thanks to God for the free gift of salvation, this is what some of our favorite Christian worship leaders and artists have to say about this momentous weekend.
Darlene Zschech:
Easter Friday... every year I enter into this day with so much gratitude .. mere words seem so small in relation to all Jesus has done for me. This is where you'll find worship is a profound gift... allowing your heart and soul to enter into His glorious presence. Over this Easter weekend.. find yourself in Gods house, open your heart in worship, and be ready for the maker of heaven and earth to come alive in you in a new way.
Ginny Owens:
"When He had received the drink Jesus said, 'It is finished.' With that He bowed His head and gave up His spirit." (Jn. 19:30) The King of the universe surrendered Himself for us. Why do we not confidently, quickly, and willingly surrender ourselves to Him?
Casting Crowns:
On this Good Friday, may we take a moment to remember the ultimate sacrifice that was made and the love that was shown when Jesus went to the cross for all of our sins.
Sanctus Real:
This is why we do what we do. Our prayer is to look and act just like Jesus. To lay down our lives, to wash each other's feet, to serve, to sacrifice, ultimately to bring the Kingdom of Heaven to this earth. Today is Good Friday, but it is only good because of what love has done.
Ellie Holcomb:
It's Good Friday & my heart always has a hard time not skipping over this day lightly knowing that on Sunday, Easter will come, but here's the thing: in my deepest places of sorrow, it is Jesus on Good Friday who has brought me the most comfort. The Man of Sorrows himself.
Jason Clark:
The betraying Judas, denying Peter, doubting Thomas, argumentative John, the Pious Pilate, the hypocritical Pharisees, the angry mob, the guilty thieves, the ungrateful lepers, the spitters, the mockers, the careless soldiers, the deserting disciples, and the sinner just like me.......this is why Jesus died!
I'm overwhelmed, thank you Jesus. You're suffering is not in vain.
Building 429:
Today, on Good Friday, let our hearts rejoice that through the cross Jesus has overcome death. He has overcome sin. He has overcome shame. He has overcome whatever circumstance or trial you are facing right now. And because of that, we have reason to fear no more.
Lecrae:
Yes I'm a Christian. Yes I make hypocritical decisions. Yes I fall. I stumble. I struggle. I am a mess. But I'm God's mess. And he can turn a mess into a masterpiece.
