Seventh Day Slumber's "Closer To Chaos" Impacts Mainstream Charts
The critically-acclaimed and highly anticipated new recording from iconic Christian rockers Seventh Day Slumber, Closer To Chaos, debuted on multiple Christian and mainstream sales charts following its May 31 release. The project garnered the biggest release week sales for a RockFest Records artist since the label's formation.
Closer To Chaos debuted in the Top 20 on Nielsen SoundScan's Current Hard Music Albums chart, ahead of recordings by Whitesnake and Five Finger Death Punch, and the album landed in the Top 40 on Nielsen SoundScan's Current Rock Albums chart. In addition to mainstream charts, the project debuts at #10 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart for the week of June 22, making Closer To Chaos a multi-genre hit recording.
The 10-song set marks a return to Seventh Day Slumber's melodic rock roots. Produced by the band's Jeremy Holderfield, with three selections co-produced and co-written by Disciple's Josiah Prince, Closer To Chaos tackles a range of issues, including emotional trauma, self-worth and sobriety, among other topics. NewReleaseToday.com says of the project, "With relevant themes and a raw guitar rock energy that is increasingly rare in this decade's music, Closer to Chaos may prove one of the choice releases of the year for rock fans," while RockOnPurpose.live raves, "Occasionally a band puts out a record that feels like somehow the truest version of themselves, like they've laser-focused in on all the things they've always wanted to sing. Closer to Chaos feels like that for Seventh Day Slumber."
"It's deeply humbling to see this album hit multiple charts in its first week," says Joseph Rojas, Seventh Day Slumber founder and frontman, and president of RockFest Records. "This is a very personal project for us as a band, and we believe the messages in these songs are vital for so many people today. Witnessing fans embrace the music really reaffirms the mission we're on."
"It's just as gratifying to see Closer To Chaos become RockFest Records' biggest debut yet," he adds. "I'm very proud of the music the label has released in its first year. This is only the beginning of what's to come from RockFest Records!"
A consistent force on Christian rock radio, Dove Award-winning Seventh Day Slumber has sold a combined total of nearly 500,000 units to date, landing two Billboard #1 albums, five #1 singles and 14 Top 10 hits in a career spanning more than 20 years. Comprised of Joseph Rojas (lead vocals/guitar), Jeremy Holderfield (guitar), Blaise Rojas (drums) and Ken Reed (bass), the band's signature songs include "Oceans From The Rain," "Inside Out," "Caroline," "Finally Awake" and "We Are The Broken."
Nashville Label Group and its RockFest Records imprint are helmed by Joseph Rojas, Seventh Day Slumber founder and frontman and creator of the City RockFest and Summer RockFest Tours. In addition to Seventh Day Slumber, RockFest Records is home to Billboard hitmakers Fireflight, Random Hero, The Protest and Zahna, as well as The Persuaded, Amongst the Giants and Silversyde. RockFest Records is distributed by New Day Christian Distributors, with digital distribution by Capitol Christian Music Group.
