Shia LaBeouf Treated for Booze Addiction
Former Disney and Transformers star, Shia LaBeouf is getting treatment for his alcohol problem but it's not rehab.
The 28 year old allegedly made a ruckus during a performance of Broadway show Cabaret at New York City and was arrested shortly after. He was soon charged for trespassing, harassment and disorderly conduct. Apparently, he had yelled at the security guards and was being uncooperative when asked to leave the premises.
He even went over the top by slapping Alan Cumming's rear. Though he did not check himself in for rehabilitation, he did voluntarily hand himself in for treatment for his alcohol addiction in a popular celebrity addiction treatment center. According to his spokesperson, he said that his "recent actions are a symptom of a larger health problem".
That being said, this is not the first time LaBeouf's gotten himself into hot water. He had announced that he was going to retire from public life after being accused of plagiarizing graphic artist Daniel Clowes' work in his Cannes entry last year. This February he was noted by the press during the Berlin Film Festival by walking off from a press conference wearing a paper bag over his head and with the words "I AM NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE". Notably, the same words were tweeted by the child star for weeks. He was also noted for other acts such as being filmed while having an argument with someone outside a strip club in Manhattan and had been arrested back in 2008 for drunk driving.
Given LaBeouf's record, we may not see this as the end of LeBeouf's antics.
