Christian Leaders Pay Tribute to the Late Ravi Zacharias
Apologist Ravi Zacharias died at his home in Atlanta on the morning of May 19, following a brief battle with sarcoma. He was 74. Christian leaders worldwide are paying tribute to Christian apologist, author and speaker.
Ravi Zacharias spent the past 48 years commending the Christian faith and addressing life's greatest existential questions of origin, meaning, morality and destiny with eloquence and grace. Through his founding and leadership of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM), Zacharias launched a global team of nearly 100 Christian scholars and authors who continue to speak, resource, train and address the questions of millions around the world.
Jim Cymbala of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir:
#RaviZacharias was a friend of The Brooklyn Tabernacle, and a close friend to me and my family personally. We will miss him dearly, but we rejoice to know that he is now in the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ, the One whose gospel he defended with every fiber of his being.
Lecrae:
"This morning the world lost a husband, father, leader, and friend. You are seeing wonders we can only imagine. You are in the presence of glory we can't comprehend. Your legacy on earth continues."
Crowder:
Today heaven rejoices and welcomes home a giant of the faith. Today we miss and mourn the loss of a friend and a teacher.

"When you come to a religion, you come to a place. When you come to Jesus Christ, you come to a person." Ravi Zacharias
Today Ravi meets Jesus in person. That's amazing.
Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference:
"Ravi Zacharias was a teacher of truth, a preacher of hope, a builder of wisdom, an equipper of faith, a disciple of grace, a follower of Christ, a friend of God and a true world changer. He advanced the gospel of Jesus like few others. Ravi inspired me. Despite beyond extraordinarily blessed intellectually, his intellect matched his heart, and he was always humble.
"I will miss you my friend.
"Thank you for changing me.
"Thank you for changing the world."
Franklin Graham:
@RaviZacharias, one of the great Christian apologists of our time, has stepped into the streets of glory and into the presence of the King of kings and Lord of lords. Don't feel sorry for Ravi-his fight with cancer is over, and he has placed his crowns at the feet of the One who deserves all glory and honor. For those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ, we will see him again on the other side of the river. Ravi shared the truth of God's Word with millions worldwide, "so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" (Philippians 2:10-11). Ravi will be greatly missed-join me in praying for his family and loved ones in their loss.
Tim Tebow:
To my friend, my mentor and a great hero of the faith @RaviZacharias - Thank you. I know I'll see you again and I look forward to that day. Love you brother!
Nick Pulse founder of the millennial-led evangelism movement PULSE and visionary behind the 2020 national Year of the Bible campaign
Well Done. Ravi Zacharias was a hero, mentor, and personal friend. He was a giant in the faith, giving Christians around the world confidence in their beliefs, while challenging the world to consider the exclusive claims of Jesus. Ravi opened doors for me, shared our stage at @pulse.movement and @together.generation events, and spoke into my life in ways that I will never forget. He has left an incredible legacy of young evangelists and apologists through @rzimhq and beyond.
Just a few weeks ago, Ravi and I were celebrating the impact of our ministry collaboration over Holy Week, which proved to be his last ministry event while on earth, where his message went out to possibly his largest audience ever - over 100 million people according to Nielsen ratings - with over 135,000 people responding to the Gospel. Ravi glowed with excitement, "What a work of God!" Ravi was faithful until the end.
While we mourn his passing, and pray for sweet Margie, and their dear family, we know that all of heaven rejoices, and that an entire generation is ready to pick up the torch as a result of his legacy.
On Saturday, May 30th, we will be honoring his legacy and sharing a recorded message from him, for an event simply called Make Jesus Known. I can't think of a better way to honor Ravi than to continue equipping a generation to follow his lead.
I love you Ravi- thank you for changing my life. Say hi to Jennie for me. I can't wait to celebrate together in glory.
