Matthew West Recounts the Impact of Easter Over History in New Docu-Film
Matthew West and the Museum of the Bible have put together a powerful documentary for Easter. The docu-film, which features narration from West, is entitled The History of Easter. The movie explores the impact of Easter across the centuries and how it has changed our societies for the good. View the trailer here.
The film moves backward in time from the present day to the Resurrection of Jesus. Filmed in Israel, Italy and at the Museum of the Bible, the documentary has a vast perspective on the history of Easter, presenting the origin of many of its traditions that have grown through the ages, ending with a presentation of the original Easter week.
West writes: "I'm excited to tell you guys that I had the pleasure of hosting and narrating The History of Easter, which explores the diverse origins and meanings behind the world's most popular Easter traditions. Filmed on location at the Museum of the Bible, Israel, and Italy, and including footage from many nations, this 1-hour cinematic documentary is a global celebration of the Resurrection, culminating with a Passion-inspired presentation of the original Easter week."
"For those belonging to Christian, Catholic and Orthodox traditions, the Resurrection of Jesus defines history and human life," said Harry Hargrave, CEO of Museum of the Bible. "This documentary will engage viewers with a compelling exploration of the history of Easter. Through delving into the Bible and the Resurrection, not only Easter but the human condition may be better understood."
TBN will air "The History of Easter" at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 1 and at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 3.
