Craig Groeschel Shares His Heart Behind His New Book "Lead Like It Matters"

New York Times bestselling author Craig Groeschel is the founding and senior pastor of Life.Church, an innovative multisite church known around the world and an organization that Glassdoor has named a #1 U.S. Best Place to Work. But it didn't happen by accident. In 1996, a handful of congregants worshipped together in a two-car garage. Today, the church welcomes tens of thousands of attendees in multiple states across the country and globally at Life.Church Online.
Today Craig Groeschel shares seven secrets to his leadership style in his new book Lead Like It Matters: 7 Leadership Principles for a Church That Lasts. After leading at Life.Church for over 25 years and studying successful ministries around the world, Groeschel discovered seven principles for success:
- Vision
- Divine Focus
- Unmistakable Camaraderie
- Innovative Minds
- Willingness to Fall Short
- Hearts Focused Outward
- Kingdom-Mindedness
In his new book, Lead Like It Matters, Groeschel breaks down each of the principles and share three areas every leader must master. He shares his heart behind the book:
"In 2008, I released the book `It: How Church Leaders Can Get it and Keep it.' At the time, Life.Church was 12 years old and I was in my late 30s. Since then, my insight, views, and understanding of spiritual leadership have matured way more than I anticipated. I knew I had a lot to learn in the years to come, but I had no idea just how much.
"That's why I'm excited to share the revised and expanded version: `Lead Like It Matters: 7 Leadership Principles for a Church that Lasts.' So many things are different today than they were back then. So much has changed, yet still many things have stayed the same.I believe this book will provide practical ways to level up your leadership and inspire your team to go the distance together.
"This book will enable you to identify and implement the seven principles to build a church that lasts and help you discover three areas ever leader must master for success. To be transparent, this book is for leaders in ministry. But just as I learn a lot from business books, I'm confident you'll find value even if you aren't in vocational ministry. My goal, heartbeat, vision, and passion behind this book is to help you #leadlikeitmatters because we know that everyone wins when the leader gets better."
