JJ Heller to Release an Album of Hymns Next Year; Drops First Song

Acclaimed singer and songwriter JJ Heller announces that she plans on releasing a new album of hymns. I Dream of You: HYMNS will be released on March 1, 2024. However, she will begin releasing a hymn on the second Friday of every month until the whole record comes out. She has just released her first hymn "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee."
The music was written by Beethoven. The lyrics plus orchestral accompaniment and the Trinity Boys Choir make this one an absolute explosion of pure joy. Heller writes, "I get goosebumps every time I hear it. And how cute is this lyric video? If you love it, drop a little in the comments or tell me how it makes you feel... and don't forget to tag a friend who might like it too!"
As for the album, Heller notes, " You might've noticed that it was a huge trend in the early 2000's for Christian artists to make hymns albums. I didn't want to make one back then because it felt like a marketing move. So we waited and waited until the timing felt right.
"It's quite a daunting task to record such sacred, beloved songs. With so many versions already in existence and readily available to listen to, for a long time I wondered if the world needed yet another version of these favorite hymns. But since my husband and I stumbled on the musical language we've been using for all of my I Dream of You albums (strings, brass, woodwinds, British boys choir, etc.), I knew we had to at least try.
"We spent about six months last year putting all of these tracks together and somehow Ben Shive made these arrangements even more beautiful than I'd hoped or imagined. Some are exuberant and triumphant (like the first single will be) and some are more quiet and reverent. I can't wait for you to hear them all. Eek! Were you hoping for a hymns project from me or was this a complete surprise? Let me know!"
