Leslie Jordan Records Her Own Rendition of Citizens' "A Thousand Shores"

Former All Sons and Daughters' Leslie Jordan unveils "A Thousand Shores," the second single from an upcoming project of revisited songs of hers previously released by artist friends. Written alongside Zach Bolen and Jack Mooring, "A Thousand Shores" was introduced on Citizens's latest album.
Taking inspiration from the Passion translation of Psalm 139, which sparked conversations around the generous overwhelming love of God, they weaved in the chorus previously composed by Leslie. The latter explores the intimate omnipresence of God - of his love - and offers a worshipful response to this reality. "As the world and our country becomes more and more polarized, God is still pulling us all toward him," Leslie shares, "He is in all things; my breath, my thoughts, my heartbeat, my songs."
"A Thousand Shores" lays down universal truths, "that God knows us from beginning to end and that his love is forever," Leslie adds. After Citizens's energetic version, this new single creates a more meditative space by its acoustic nature, highlighting its versatility and broad pertinence. Leslie concludes, "I am honored to release this version in hopes that even more folks are able to identify with its message."
