Former Hillsong Atlanta Pastor Sam Collier Graduates with a Masters Degree

Former Hillsong Pastor Sam Collier has received his earned "Master of Arts in Ministerial Leadership" from Southeastern University and Barnett School of Theology. He has been in Graduate School and Seminary for 4 years. Collier currently pastors Story Church, which began as Hillsong Atlanta.
Collier writes, "According to EDU.GOV 13% of individuals that have a 'Masters Degree' are African-American/Black. Let's change that. Sitting in that graduation, I was honored to walk beside my white brothers and sisters...however there was a moment in which the FEW African-Americans (and maybe a few minorities) in the room locked eyes and tears for some filled the atmosphere.
"It was a knowing that not many of us have accomplished this goal. Partially because historically and legally we couldn't. The ones that fought for us to be able to stand in this moment told us that `education' and `empowerment' are the keys to succeeding in America and the World.
"Whether you've gotten it through the school of hard knocks or in the classroom let's right the wrongs of history by studying to show ourselves approved and by becoming experts in our fields."
Collier is the Lead Pastor of Story Church Atlanta. He is also the founder of A Greater Story Ministries which houses a nationally televised interview series and podcast called "A Greater Story with Sam Collier", as well as a partnership with Baker Publishing which recently released his first book entitled, A Greater Story.
Collier was previously in ministry at North Point Ministries, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Newbirth Church, Orange Leaders and most recently Hillsong Atlanta where he was the former Lead Pastor.
He also spends much of his time sitting with leaders such as Dr. Bernice King, Reggie Joiner, Andy Stanley, Nona Jones at Facebook to name a few, discussing the current issues of the day for the sake of pioneering a new World.
