The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards have revealed that Maroon 5 will be performing at the 2014 MTV VMA's airing at the end of the month.
"We are so excited about our upcoming new album and to be part of the great VMA lineup this year. It is our first time doing the show and we are thrilled to be on it performing our new single," Adam said in a statement (via the band's Facebook page).
Maroon 5 joins Taylor Swift as the two most recent performer additions for the Video Music Awards. Other performers already announced include Usher, Ariana Grande and 5 Seconds of Summer.
Beyoncé received the most nominations at this year's MTV Video Music Awards with eight, including Video of the Year for "Drunk in Love," Best Female Video for "Partition," and Best Video with a Social Message for "Pretty Hurts." Eminem and Iggy Azalea were next in line receiving seven nominations each.
Other favorites for the night will be new comer Sam Smith, Pharrell Williams' hit song "Happy," and Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" all up for various awards.
The 2014 MTV Video Music Awards will air live on MTV on Aug. 24 at 9 p.m. from The Forum in Inglewood, California.
Maroon 5's new album V will follow up to the band's popular 2012 album Overexposed, which features the smash singles "Payphone" and "One More Night."
Their singer, Adam Levine, has gained more national spotlight the last few years as one of the coaches/judges on the popular TV singing competition show "The Voice" on NBC. Adam has been on "The Voce" since it began, Season 7 will air this Fall on NBC.
They captured the Grammy Awards for "Best New Artist" in 2005 and have gone on to sell more than 17 million albums worldwide. Maroon 5's releases have gone gold and platinum in over 35 countries.
