Inspirational artist and veteran songwriter John Bergeron has released his newest single, "Jesus My Lord," to Christian radio. With raw honesty and heartfelt worship, the song offers a powerful testimony of surrender and salvation, echoing the storms and triumphs of Bergeron's lifelong journey with music and faith.
Bergeron grew up in Thibodaux, Louisiana-a small Cajun town near Bayou Lafourche-where his musical path began as a child. Taught piano by his mother at just four years old, he was playing in a nine-piece soul band by fourteen and working in New Orleans studios by seventeen. From Broadway to backroads, Bergeron says, "It wasn't that I made a choice-music seemed to have chosen me."
That same sense of calling pulses through "Jesus My Lord," a deeply personal song born out of life's storms. The opening lines reflect a heart weary from drifting:
"I've been tossed by the wind of this storm in my heart / I've been drifting too long to come in..."
But just when hope seems lost, a cry goes out-and Jesus answers:
"Then I reached out and called His name / Through the clouds of my life He came to me."
The chorus is simple but profound, a cry of devotion:
"Jesus my Lord / Jesus my Lord / Jesus my Lord / Jesus."
Mixed by Merel Bregante, mastered by Jerry Tubb and produced by John Bergeron, the single pairs soulful piano with warm, organic instrumentation-delivering a sound that's both classic and fresh, reflective and deeply worshipful. In the second verse, the storm imagery gives way to assurance:
"I'm sailing now with a friend by my side / And no chance of losing my way."
Bergeron's storytelling voice and rich musical heritage shine throughout the song, reminding listeners that no matter how rough the waters, there's always hope when we trust in the One who calms the seas.
"Jesus My Lord" has been released to Christian radio and is available now on all major streaming platforms.
