Gospel Icon Vanessa Bell Armstrong Requests Prayers Following Hospitalization

Beloved gospel singer Vanessa Bell Armstrong is requesting prayers from her supporters as she continues to recover after being hospitalized for more than a week.
Armstrong first shared a video update from her hospital bed earlier this month, revealing that she had been admitted on Saturday, August 16th, the same day as the taping of the Stellar Awards in Nashville. In the video, she expressed her desire to return home but explained that doctors advised her to remain under care.
On Saturday, August 23rd, Armstrong provided another update by posting a photo from her hospital stay, confirming she is still under medical supervision. While the nature of her illness has not been disclosed, Armstrong's message focused on her appreciation for continued prayers and support from fans, friends, and the gospel community.
With a career spanning more than four decades, Armstrong is widely regarded as a trailblazer in gospel music. A 7-time Grammy Award nominee, she has also been honored with multiple Stellar Awards, including Contemporary Female Artist of the Year in 1994 for her album Something on the Outside and Traditional Female Artist of the Year in 2013 for her album Timeless.
Her powerful voice and ministry through music have inspired generations, bridging traditional and contemporary gospel styles while pointing audiences to faith and hope.
As Armstrong continues her recovery, she is asking the gospel community and all who love her music to keep her lifted in prayer.
