Frank Movie News: Michael Fassbender is a Whimsical Delight and He Does Know to Sing - An Undiscovered Musical Genius
Frank movie is about an eccentric character and leader of the band who wears a large papier-mâché head throughout the film - which Fassbender enjoyed doing so. The film is a fictional story mostly inspired by Frank Sidebottom, the comic persona of Chris Sievey who is thought to have given his backing to the film before his death, but the plot was also inspired by other musicians like Daniel Johnston and Captain Beefheart.
Frank movie reviews are generally positive. According to Kyle Smith of the New York Post, he described it as a "whimsical delight", that it has a lot of heart and praises Domhnall Gleeson acting in particular. Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian gave it four stars out of five saying, "Frank works as satire, as memoir, as comedy bromance, but it works mostly because it is just so weird".
The movie stars Michael Fassbender as Frank, Maggie Gyllenhaal as Clara, Frank's often aggressive sidekick who plays a theremin and Domhnall Gleeson as Jon, a young wannabe musician who joins Frank's band.
Frank movie trailer is all over the internet and Fassbender's character was praised as a performance with a class. Frank movie soundtrack offers Fassbender singing "I Love You All" as the official movie song.
Frank is now in theaters.
