'Saved By The Bell' Movie Premiere Lifetime September 2014, Watch First Five Minutes of 'The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story' Here (VIDEO)
The "Saved By The Bell" movie coming to Lifetime released their first official trailer last week and now the first five minutes of the movie have been posted online. So if you want an extended preview of the upcoming movie, you can check it out above. The movie looks like it will span the whole life of the show, all the way back to the initial auditions.
"Saved By The Bell" was one of the highest rated shows on television, running from 1989-1993 and still shown on steady re-runs to this day. The kids from fictional Bayside High in California seemed to have their lives together and only focused on PG rated issues on the show.
However, behind the scenes, there were always stories about the casts fights, drug use and sexual encounters. Then Dustin Diamond, who played Screech, put out a tell-all book about the dirty secrets of the show and cast.
Lifetime decided to make a movie called The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story about the behind the scenes drama of the popular show. They have released their first trailer footage for the movie, which you can check out above.
"Saved By the Bell" original casting director, Robin Lippin, put together the cast for the upcoming movie.
The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story was written Ron McGee (The Nine Lives of Chole King) and directed by Jason Lepeyre (Restless Virgins).
The Lifetime movie will star Dylan Everett as Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Sam Kindseth as Dustin Diamond, Julian Works as Mario Lopez, Alyssa Lynch as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen, Tiera Skovbye as Elizabeth Berkley, and Taylor Russell McKenzie as Lark Voorhies.
The Unauthorized Saved By The Bell Story is set to air on Lifetime on Labor Day, September 1 at 9pm.
In June 2014, BuzzFeed broke the news that Lifetime was producing a behind-the-scenes, tell-all movie about Saved by the Bell.
"The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story" is produced by Front Street Pictures and Ringaling Productions Ltd. for broadcast on Lifetime. Exec producers are Harvey Kahn ("Flowers in the Attic") and Stephen Bulka ("Dear Mom, Love Cher"). The film is directed by Jason Lapeyre ("Restless Virgins") and the teleplay is written by Ron McGee ("The Nine Lives of Chole King").
