Upcoming New Show Jane the Virgin Release Date and Story Synopsis: New Poster Released, Gina Rodriguez on Her Role of "Jane": 'I don't have to be a perfect size zero. I can be a perfect size me'
A new poster for the much - awaited TV show "Jane the Virgin" has just been released which showcases Gina Rodriguez, who is the star of the show looking a little worried in the cute little poster.
For a tiny sneak peek at what to look forward to in Rodriguez' upcoming show, here is its brief synopsis: Adapted from the successful and very popular Venezuelan telenovela, "Jane the Virgin" will be following the unforeseen and surprising happenings that eventually leads to a hard - working and religious young Latina woman (played by Rodriguez, of course) to be accidentally artificially inseminated.
The pilot episode has also been released already to a limited audience and, rest assured, because as many had pointed out, it is turning out to be one of the favourites or at least the most - anticipated upcoming show of the fall season.
Gina Rodriguez, who is Puerto Rican, instantly became famous after the breakout hit of the 2012 indie film called "Filly Brown" which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The newcomer game such a dazzling performance as a young rapper and was immediately sought after by studios and TV networks. She had turned down many roles and decided to choose the roles she plays wisely. On why she agreed to play "Jane," however, here is her reply:
"I wanted it to be a story that was going to liberate young girls and say, 'Wow, there we are too, and we're the doctors, and we're the teachers, and we're the writers, and we're the lawyers, and I can do that too. And I don't have to be a perfect size zero. I can be a perfect size me.' And that's what I live."
Mark your calendars - "Jane the Virgin" is set to premiere on Monday, October 13 at 9 PM only on CW!
