'The Blacklist' Season 2 Spoilers: What to Expect from This Season
The first season of "Blacklist" is in the books and we are on deck for the premiere of the series' season 2. The ending of the first season gave us some meaty revelations such as the reason why Red surrendered to the FBI is to use their resources to hunt down an enemy, which was also revealed as Berlin. It was also revealed that Tom, Liz's husband is a secret villain. Lastly, there is hint that Red is actually Liz's father. With all this in the table, let's take a look at what is in-store for us in the upcoming season 2.
Although fans are raving for an answer as to whether Red is Liz's father, the answer may not be given in this season. Executive Producers Jon Bokenkamp, John Eisendrath and actor James Spader, who plays "Red," revealed that the season will be more concerned with the present relationship between the two main characters and not about their secrets.
Berlin was able to escape, albeit narrowly at the end of the first season. In this upcoming season he will be employing some help, as seen in the recent trailer, to get the upper hand in his battle against Red. This help will be in the form of Lord Baltimore, who will try to target someone dear to Red to get him. This suggests that he will be targeting Liz.
It is also obvious that Liz would be going through some personal sufferings with all the events in season one. The unveiling of Tom's true identity, as well as learning that Red mercy-killed his stepfather, could most probably be the theme for season 2 with regards to her.
Another question that would be hanging in the air is whether or not Tom is already dead. Yes, Liz saw him "die" in front of her; but when asked about this, producers were unwilling to provide a concrete answer so it could be that Tom will be coming back if not later this season, maybe in upcoming ones.
All these questions and speculations leave viewers excited for the second season premiere which will be in Monday, Sept. 22.
