Sad news for Robert Downey Jr. fans! The Iron Man star won't be taking on a role in the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie. Instead another Marvel star, Michael Fassbender, is interested in taking on a lead

role in the upcoming game to movie adaptation. According to reports, Fassbender is set for the role of Michael Lynch who is a death row inmate sent to The Animus to travel back in time to the Spanish

Inquisition to "locate sacred artifacts that are integral to a longstanding war between the Assassins and the Templars". Fassbender shares that the movie will be respectful to the game which will be a plus to fans.

The Assassin's Creed movie is rumored to be to be under the direction of Justin Kurzel but it is not final yet. Same goes to the initial release date of August 2015, now turned to 2016. Unfortunately, that will not be the case because producer 20th Century Fox will focus on a Marvel movie, Deadpool. Now Ubisoft Motion Pictures has partnered up with New Regency Pictures for the Assassin's Creed movie and is planning two other movies, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon.

The reason for the delay of The Assassin's Creed movie is that screenplay and the script has been undergoing several rewrites to try to get the best tone for the fans who are anticipating the movie. Another reason why the movie is delayed is because of Fassbender's scheduling conflicts.
