Montreal Marathon: Ben Bruce wins, Other winners, Routes, Winning Time
Ben Bruce, American runner has been declared as the winner of 2014 Montreal marathon with a time of 2:22:38. San Diego, California based athlete passed the finishing point before 11:00 a.m. Bruce says that hot temperature was quite wonderful and which let him to slow down to pace. "I came to Canada hoping it would be cooler," he suggested after reached in to the finishing point. The highest temperature on Sunday was may be 26 C.
David Savard-Gagnon of Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec, was reportedly finished for the second position and he won first in the 2013 Montreal marathon. Oukid Fehti from the Montreal suburb of St-Leonard won the third positon with a time of 2:31:43.
In the women's full marathon item, Joanne Normand, hails Lévis, Que won the first positon with a time of 3:01:27.
Around 35,000 runners represented for 45 nations, who were participated for one of the five races; they are marathon, half-marathon, and the 10k, 5k and 1k races. The marathon begins at 8:30 a.m. on the Jacques-Cartier Bridge.
Just one hour after the race started the half-marathon victor was declared Daniel Kipkoech of Lethbridge, Alta, who won the game with a time of 1:05:46. The runner's gone thorugh Île Ste-Hélène, Île Notre-Dame and many of the neighborhoods in the central and eastern parts of the island before landing to the finishing point at La Fontaine Park.
This marathon is a part of the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis marathon series; another key attraction of the marathon series is 20 live concerts were carried out, throughout the different race routs by various local artists. Roads were blocked, and motor vehicles were delayed as of huge traffic in the morning and early afternoon. South Shore, the Jacques-Cartier Bridge is closed to prevent the public access; the authorities do not allow coming or going through this area until noon, for the smooth running of the runners, CBC reports.
