Utopia TV Show Cancelled from Tuesday's Primetime Line Up
Fox had unplugged the struggling Utopia TV series from the Tuesdays Primetime line up and moved to Fridays on an 8PM (ET/PT) time slot, one of the week's lesser-watched nights.Utopia drew only 2 million viewers Tuesday, finishing fourth in viewers and young adults.
Over the next four Tuesdays, the network will run two weeks of animated reruns in the 8 ET/PT hour, followed by Game 1 of the World Series on Oct. 21 and another World Series game on Oct. 28, if necessary.
The second season of MasterChef Junior, which features kids competing in a culinary competition, will take over the Tuesday slot Nov. 4.
Utopia, a social experiment that challenges participants to create their own society, started with a three-night premiere in early September. In recent weeks, it has been running on Tuesday and Friday, although the Friday broadcast originally was scheduled for only six weeks with the series to remain on Tuesday. Today's move effectively reverses that scheduling plan.
