Journey 3 Release Date, Spoilers: Dwayne Johnson Reprises His Role in Journey 3
The third installment of the Journey series, Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon was rumored to be releasing August this year 2014, but reports suggest that the movie is still in the development stage. A fourth Journey movie is also confirmed.
A script is yet to be written in the third and fourth Journey movies. The Conjuring writers Chad Hayes and Carey Hayes were hired to write the scripts for both of the upcoming movies. This is contrary to the early reports back in 2013 where Brian Gunn and Mark Gunn, who wrote the first sequel, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and is also known for writing Bring it On Again back in 2004. The third installment, Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon will still be directed by Brad Peyton, who is also known for another family friendly movie, Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore.
Dwayne Johnson, who is also known as The Rock, will be reprising his role as Hank Parsons in both the upcoming Journey sequels. He is also famous for GI Joe: Retaliation and the recent Hercules movie. Also reprising his role is Josh Hutcherson, who is known for his role in the movie adaptations of The Hunger Games, as Sean Anderson.
Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon will still be distributed by Warner Bros. who are responsible for distributing hit movies like The Hangover (2009), Inception (2010) and Gravity (2013). The production of the third Journey movie will still be handled by New Line Cinema, who are famous for The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The Hobbit movies as well.
Warner Bros. released Journey to the Center of the Earth back in 2008, followed by a 2012 release of Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. Fans speculate that the gap, which is 4 years between the movies, is to be expected as the same gap between the second installment and the third installment. This would mean that Journey 3: From the Earth to the Moon would be estimated roughly to be released in 2016.
The producers promise that the third Journey movie will be the best film in the franchise so far.
