LG G Watch R Release Date, Latest News and Specs: Android Powered Watch Coming Out In South Korea Second Week of October
The LG G Watch R is due to be released in South Korea and is expected to be on Oct. 14 this year. This upcoming watch is already generating interest even from those who are living outside Korea.
This latest LG G Watch R can be considered the priciest Android watch out in the market. A Verge post reported that a buyer in South Korea will have to shell out around 352,000 Korean Won for this latest LG toy. If you convert that amount in U.S. dollars and include the tax, the retail price can go up to $328.
No advice yet on the retail price or launch date of this LG G Watch R in European or U.S. market. Verge also reported that a cheaper LG version of said watch has a retail cost of 277,000 Korean Won or $230 USD. The projected cost of the new LG G Watch R can reached a retail price of up to $290 in the U.S. including net of any taxes that may be imposed.
The previous model, the LG G Watch is now available for $180 USD or more than half of the projected cost of the upcoming G Watch R. Despite being tagged as the priciest Android watch it is still by far cheaper than Apple Watch which will cost you $350 USD.
The LG G Watch R is powered by the Android Wear OS, Geeky Gadget reports. This latest LG watch sports a 1.3 inch Plastic OLED display, which has a 320 x 320 pixel resolution.
This Android smartwatch has a Snapdragon 400 1.2 GHz quad core processor. The LG G Watch R has 512 MB of RAM and built in storage space of up to 4 GB. Battery has 410 mAh.
One noticeable features of this LG G Watch R is the numerous sensors it has, including a heart sensor. It also has a barometer and compass plus the watch is waterproof and has obtained an Ingress Protection (IP) rating of 67.
