Sadie Robertson Says 'Duck Dynasty' is Bringing Prayer to Schools Across the Country
They have a hit TV show, action figures and even their own line of wine varieties. Now the cast of Duck Dynasty is bringing prayer into schools across the country.
Sadie Robertson, the 16-year old daughter of Willie and Korie Robertson, and co-creator of TheNewDifferent YouTube series spoke to an audience in Montgomery, Alabama about how the values and success of her family's A&E series is leading students to pray at school before eating lunch. She told those in attendance that the show has inspired "prayer clubs" across the country.
Robertson was a guest speaker at a benefit for Prattville Christian Academy according to the Montgomery Adviser.
Though Robertson talked about how the show has influenced religious acceptance in schools, she chose not to address the controversy surrounding her grandfather and Robertson patriarch Phil Robertson's recent anti-gay comments.
"We will say we're really glad for us all to be back together as a family because (he's) the leader. We couldn't do anything without him."
As for Duck Dynasty Season 5, which premieres Wednesday, January 22, Robertson said the new episodes are better than ever.
"I laughed so hard I cried a couple of times. Coming up, we have this paintball gun episode and it is hi-larious, by far my favorite episode, probably."
