HTC Desire 612 Already Out for Verizon Subscribers: Specs, Features and Price
The HTC Desire 610 was previously available in AT&T for their subscribers last July of this year, and it sold quite well. Verizon knew of this and wanted a slice of the market action that HTC Desire 610 provided for AT&T and made arrangements for it to become available for their subscribers as well. The slightly tweaked HTC Desire 612 was made available three days ago, October 9, for Verizon subscribers.
According to Verizon, the HTC Desire 612 will provide a "premium" experience for the price of an entry-level smartphone, which is, in fact, true. On Verizon and GSM Arena's model page, it states that the device has a 4.6" display with 720p resolution that rocks a decent 312 ppi for clearer images, text and icons. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Chipset which runs a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex A7 processor and Adreno 305, which is a pretty good GPU that can run most HD games with minimal lag. All these runs under Android KitKat 4.2.2. It has 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage space, but this can be expanded up to 128 GB via external micro SD. The battery capacity, however, is not something to be excited about, since it is only a 2040 - mAh battery, which you'll probably drain the life out off quickly within a few hours of continuous gaming and staying online.
It also has an 8-megapixel rear camera with decent LED flash. The camera is also capable of recording videos of 1080p under 30 frames per second. The front camera features a 1.3 megapixel sensor and can record 720p HD videos. Both cameras have access to HTC Desire 612's extensive array of filters like monochrome, sepia etc
HTC Desire 612 is also equipped to be XLTE ready so if you're some place where XLTE is already available, you can take advantage of its ultra fast transfer speeds for uploading and download on your HTC Desire 612.
HTC Desire 612 is available for a two-year contract for free with Verizon subscribers, as reported by Phandroid.
