Scott Stapp's "Proof of Life" Sparks First Christian Radio No. 1 Hit with "Slow Suicide"; 2014 Tour Launches March 19

It's been a long road for former Creed lead singer Scott Stapp. After beating addiction the "With Arms Wide Open" singer is back at the top the Billboard music charts with his brand new single "Slow Suicide" off of his November 5 release Proof of Life, via Wind-Up Records.
The track marks Stapp's first No. 1 Christian radio hit. Produced by Howard Benson and mixed by Chris Lord-Alge, the album reflects the Grammy-award winning artist's realization that much of his adult life was a "slow suicide."
"For years I was slowly killing myself," confesses Stapp. "Drugs and booze want to kill you instantly, but they're patient and will take their time. The same is true of toxic relationships. I had to start off this story by declaring the most obvious of truths: that I had been torturing and poisoning myself in an attempt to snuff out my soul."
Proof of Life is Stapp's first new material since releasing his 2012 memoir Sinner's Creed. The memoir reveals Stapp's faith in a higher power that is always within reach regardless of how much of a mess we make life.
"My heart tells me that God is always there, even when you feel your breath fading from your lung," says Stapp, quoting lyrics from the song. "God is reaching out to accept you in ways that renew your spirit and energize your soul."
