'Dracula Untold' Movie Review And Spoilers
The movie produced by Michael de Luca and directed by Gary Shore, "Dracula Untold" premiered last October 10, 2014 in IMAX and theaters worldwide.
Despitec receiving a PG 13 rating, "Dracula Untold" still manage to topped the box office worldwide, leaving 'Annabelle' and 'Gone Girl' behind, with a $33.9 million opening weekend earnings overseas.
According to sources, Universal Pictures started shooting the film around August of last year and it was created as a Universal Monster franchise reboot. It cost the studio $70 million to produce and had a gross of $86.1 after just two weeks of showing. It was released in 17 new locations and hit the box office as well in Russia earning $9.6 million, Peru with $969,000 and Taiwan in $1.6 million total gross.
The protagonist of the movie, Luke Evans ("Fast and the Furious 6" and "Immortals") played the role of Vlad III Tepes (also known as Vlad the Impaler), but unlike the 1897 novel Count Dracula created by Irish novelist Bram Stoker, the character focuses on portraying the character of Vlad the Impaler. Other cast members include Charlie Cox, Sarah Gadon, Dominic Cooper, Diarmaid Murtagh and Samantha Barks.
The movie focuses on Vlad protecting his loved ones and his kingdom against dreadful threats created by the dark forces. He must learn to balance his concern for his family and the evidence that he may drown in darkness too.
Latest news based on Screenrant.com podcast, an interview conducted with Gary Shore, provide reviews and sneak peek footage from Comic Con 2014.
The review basically reveals the iconography and talent of Shore to its medieval settings, which resulted in efficiency in its movements. Showing its own unique style and signature about film making inspired by Matthew Vaughn techniques in directing. Though Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 25% based on 82 reviews which meant mixed and average, the performance of Luke Evans is still highly commendable and praised by different review sites.
Rumor has it that there is a possibility of a sequel, according to producer Allisa Phillips on her October 2 interview at the "Dracula Untold" UK premiere.
