NBA Trade Rumors and Updates: Teams Aggressively Pitch for Al Hoford and Michael Carter Williams and Nuggets Closely Guard Timofey Mosgov
There are only two weeks between now and the start of the regular NBA season for 2014-2015. There are a lot of stars around the league who have been rumored to be up on offer but some have been talked about for some time now. For one, Michael Carter Williams was shopped during the 2014 NBA draft while Al Hoford's name was being mentioned the whole last season. Timofey Mozgov has also been quite the target but to no avail this time round. Taking into account all of these rumors starting with Carter Williams. He is such a target as he won the NBA rookie of the year award and it was not a close competition as he took 104 of the first place votes.
According to Zach Lowe of Grantland, "They tried hard during the draft, but they couldn't draw the trove they envisioned or guarantee that the player they wanted with an acquired pick would be there, per several league sources. Expect Philly to repeat the exercise."
The other one is Al Hoford and after 10 months off the court due to a torn pectoral muscle, he made his return to the court on Tuesday. Lowe shared more on this saying, "It happened in stealth mode last season, when the Hawks reached out to a select group and made it known that Horford could be had for the right price."
As for Timofey Mozgov, teams have been calling but the Denver Nuggets have not budged on moving him since the last season. The center stepped up last season and people tool notice. As such, he has become the Nuggets, most coveted trade asset. This is not likely to change because with his salary of 4.6 million dollars at the present, he is one of the most potent value for money assets. Have two great centers, with varying ages and experience is very advantageous for the Nuggets and is clearly the better choice for the team.
