It provided viewers on the whereabouts of Bonnie and Damon. It was learned that the duo were caught up in a place which they claimed as hell. What made it more exciting is that they realized that there was someone else who was with them in this so-called hell.
The Wall Street Journal Blog chronicled the end part of the episode, it was shown that that someone is Kai. He wanted Damon dead. For his part, Damon was confused and even expressed that he did not know Kai. He also has no idea of the reason behind the desire of Kai to have him dead. Because of Damon's vulnerable position, Bonnie came up to the rescue. Helping Damon was really against her will. What motivated her to help the distress Damon was the fact that Elena, Bonnie's best friend and Damon's ex-boyfriend, have loved Damon so much.
