American Sniper Reveals and Spoiler: Bradley Cooper Set to Star as the Legendary Chris Kyle
American Sniper does not yet have a release date but the director happens to be Clit Eastwood and we all know how fast the guy works. By the end of the fall we should have a definitive description of how things are going in terms of a release date within months if not weeks. This is one of those genuine patriotic movie contexts such as Act of Valor which premiered in 2012. It is hard to say that it did not have a lot of success because the worldwide turnover was a bit more than expected at 80 million US, while it only took 12 million to produce it.
Written by Scott McEwen and Jim DefFelice, the plot will follow the military career of an actual soldier; Navy Seal Chris Kyle who has recorded more kills in combat than any other American in history of about 150 from 1999 to 2009. The previous record was 109. Mind you all of these records have been confirmed by the pentagon. He was called 'the Devil' by enemy combatants and had a bounty on his head as is the case with known operators in the field but his brothers knew him as the legend.
This installment should bring some star power to the screen. Bradley Cooper will play the role of the Navy Seal and it is rumored that Clint will also bring in some active Navy Seals for consultation and possibly casting. One of them is Chris, friend Kevin 'Dauber" Lacz. The film is based on his autobiography straight from childhood where he grew up in Texas and learnt to shoot while hunting with his father. Production of the film began a little over a month ago and it is currently shooting in Morocco.
