Gary LeVox Reveals His New Single "Working on Sunday" Was Originally Meant for Rascal Flatts

After 20 years as front man of country supergroup Rascal Flatts, Gary LeVox is embarking on a solo chapter as a Christian music artist. Earlier this year he released his first EP, One On One, today he has followed that up with the release of the new single "Working on Sunday."
LeVox announces, "I'm excited to announce that my new single "Working On Sunday" is available everywhere now! This one touches on those deep, desperate moments when you need the good Lord most. Give it a listen!"
Fans have been excited about the new song. One of them writes, "I know a special needs boy here in South East Ohio that will be glad to hear your new music, no one on earth loves you as he does. I would know because he is my son." Another comments, "Isn't it beautiful how music can touch the soul at exact moments you seem to need it. I'm excited to hear it."
The song was originally pitched as a Rascal Flatts song, DeMarcus and Rooney "passed on it for some reason or another," LeVox recalls. "["Working on Sunday"] made it to being recorded for this project, and it's one of the most exciting things I've ever been a part of as a songwriter."
LeVox describes the song as "spiritually-based" with a "tongue-in-cheek" sentiment, regarding someone in a relationship who's seeking heavenly guidance following an argument. "I've called her, and texted her -- and [though] I know how you feel about working on Sundays -- but I don't think I can make it to Monday if she doesn't call me back," LeVox says, paraphrasing the song's lyrical content.
