'Nashville Season 3' Begins Filming and Star Sam Palladino Hints at Romance for Scarlett and Gunnar This Season
The ABC hit show "Nashville" has begun shooting for season 3 in where else but Nashville, Tennessee. The official shoot began on July 17. Although the show originally considered shooting elsewhere, like Georgia or Texas, fan support ultimately allowed them to continue filming in Middle Tennessee.
Scarlett and Gunnar fans will really be in for it this season. Sam Palladio, who portrays Gunnar on the show, believes love is on the horizon for the pair. "The fans love the two characters together and I'm sure that they will in one way or another come back together at least as musical partners," Palladio stated.
Fans will recall that after the Kelly Clarkson fiasco of last season, Gunnar and Scarlett seemed to be in a good place in the finale, when they sang "It Ain't Yours to Throw Away." When asked if the two would be writing songs together for season 3, Palladio said, ""I think the two characters have had a deep connection that music is the catalyst of. So no matter what happens in their personal lives, when they come together and sing, that spark gets ignited again."
As filming has begun, the cast has been letting fans have plenty of sneak peeks via social media. In preparation for filming, the writing staff met with the mayor of Nashville, Karl Dean, as well as with country star Sara Evans. Filming is taking place at many iconic locations around Nashville, such as the Bluebird Cafe and the Grand Ole Opry.
"Nashville" returns to ABC on September 24 at 10 p.m. EDT.
