Don't Miss The Talleys’ Latest Live Release “No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus”

Opening with a few moving words from Debra Talley, "No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus" - the latest entry in The Talleys' new streaming-only series of live recordings for Horizon Records, Messages to Treasure: A Live Anthology - revisits a song the family trio first recorded nearly 20 years ago, revealing how the depth of their artistry only grew across the unfolding of the years between.
With its complex chordal variations and a sophisticated arrangement that recall the riches of "great American songbook" entries from the era in which it was written, this new take on a beloved hymn is a powerful new entry in the collection.
Debra Talley makes the most of the measured pacing and relaxed rhythms of the song, her expressive voice framed by harmonies from Roger and Lauren as she navigates its three memorable verses, pausing at the beginning of the final verse to note that it's her favorite:
Ev'ry day He comes to me
With new assurance
More and more I understand
His words of love
But I'll never know
Just why He came to save me
Till someday I see
His blessed face above
"'No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus' is one of my all-time favorite hymns," she recalls today. "I remember hearing George Beverly Shea sing the song when The Talleys sang at a Billy Graham Crusade in Syracuse, New York. Seeing hundreds of people come forward for salvation moved me to tears. That was many years ago, but it's still relevant today. Its message is timeless because of the personal connection for me or anyone reflecting on the love of Christ in their life."
