'Beetlejuice 2' Movie in Works with Original Cast of Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder
It was revealed in October 2013 that a sequel for Tim Burton's Beetlejuice might happen. Burton began preliminary talks with a screenwriter and producer Seth Graham-Smith on the sequel script.
Michael Keaton would be back to reprise his role as BeetleJuice and Winona Ryder would be back as well as Lydia Deetz.
Ryder did a interview recently with MTV and some insight into a new Beetlejuice movie. "I'm kind of sworn to secrecy but it sounds like it might be happening. It's 27 years later. And I have to say, I love Lydia Deetz so much. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later," the 42-year-old actress said.
Keaton shared that he has been in touch with director Tim Burton about the new movie as well.
"I've e-mailed Tim a couple of times, talked to the writer a couple of times, but all really, really preliminary stuff until relatively recently. I always said that's the one thing I'd like to do again, if I ever did anything again. But it kind of required Tim to be involved some way or another. Now it looks like he is involved. And without giving too much away we've talked to each other, and e-mailed each other, and if he's in, it's going to be hard not to be in."

The original Beetlejuice movie released in 1988. The plot revolved around a recently deceased young couple (Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis) who become ghosts haunting their former home and an obnoxious, devious ghost named Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) from the Netherworld who tries to scare away the new inhabitants (Catherine O'Hara, Jeffrey Jones, and Winona Ryder) permanently.
