'X-Men' Latest News and Update: Simon Kinberg Gives More Details About 'X-Men Apocalypse' and 'X-Men Days of Future Past'
For those of us who watched "X-Men: Days of Future Past," I am sure you're confuse - I know I am. It feels like the other "X-Men" movie doesn't matter anymore. Those characters that were dead are now alive. Not that I'm complaining, but what does it all mean?
Simon Kinberg, "X-Men Days of Future Past" co-writer, enlightened the fans about what they can expect from "X-Men Apocalypse." Kinberg revealed that "X-Men Apocalypse" will focus on characters that we introduced back in 2011's "X-Men First Class" Mystique, Magneto and Charles Xavier. He added, "In Apocalypse, it will really to be the continuation of the 'past' of Days of Future Past."
"X-Men: Apocalypse" actually takes place 20 years before the first "X-Men" film, characters like Storm are not yet present - or maybe we can expect to see the younger version of Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey.
It is still confusing for the most part, especially with many characters crossing different timelines. I personally thought that we are getting is an X-Men reboot, after I watched "X-Men Days of Future Past" and now it was revealed that "X-Men Apocalypse" is actually a continuation of the "X-Men Days of Future Past" - at least the "past" part.
Fans are sure to miss "X-Men" characters like Storm, played by Halle Berry, Jean Grey by Famke Jannsen and Cyclops played by James Mardsen. Their characters are "institution" to the series. At least Wolverine is going to be there together with Hank.
The team is going to fight an ancient force that can cause doom to all human race. While some of the old X-Men characters are gone, some new ones will emerge. One of them is Gambit, who is also known as the Cajun Remy LeBeau. The actor who will play the role of Gambit is no other than Channing Tatum.
