Dave Batista's Return To WWE In 2014, Not Likely
Although the 45-year-old Dave "The Animal" Batista previously told fans that he wanted to return to the WWE for at least one more run, and go on a program with Triple H, before he retires, it now seems this will not be happening anytime soon in 2014.
Batista, according to Cageside Seats, has landed another movie role following the success of his Guardians of the Galaxy film where his deadpan portrayal of Drax the Destroyer earned him the critics' nod. He will next be appearing in the Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films production of Bus 657, heist movie featuring an ensemble cast headed by Robert de Niro. Batista will be joining Kate Bosworth, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and former MMA women's champ Gina Carano. Principal photography is already set to begin this October 13 in Mobile, AL., according to Deadline. In the movie, Batista and Morgan's characters will be seen taking Bus 657 and its passengers hostage.
Batista, moreover, is also attached to play Tong Po, the main villain in the Kickboxer reboot movie as soon as it is given the green light for production. He will be co-starring alongside Scott Adkins, Tony Jaa, Georges St-Pierre, and Alain Moussi.
In addition, according to We Got This Covered, it has been reported that Marvel Studios is currently restructuring their contract with Batista so that he will receive more compensation for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy as well as bind him to an agreement for future Marvel films such as the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers 3 where his Drax the Destroyer will be given more meatier parts.
