Black Widow movie news, release date, rumors: Scarlett Johansson's character gets her standalone origins movie, out for release by 2017
Black Widow movie news: After her appearance in Iron Man 2, The Avengers, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the Black Widow is set to have her own origins movie. Rumors have it that Black Widow movie release date has been set for 2017.
This gives lead actress Scarlett Johansson enough time to train for her fight scenes after recently giving birth to her baby with fiancé Romain Dauriac.
The Black Widow still has a story to tell.
A Screenrant.com article notes President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige saying a standalone movie for the Black Widow would be a good move.
"I think the idea would be great," he said.
"We've got various outlines and ideas of where to take that. As Scarlett already said, there's a big element that explores her back story in an upcoming Marvel feature."
"The question really is, 'When will we take her out of the ensemble and have her do her own thing?' As you saw in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier', as you'll see in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron,' she's really the key to so much of the plot development."
Fans are definitely looking forward to seeing a female superhero kick ass on the big screen in 2017.
