Max Lucado's Movie "The Christmas Candle" Featuring Susan Boyle Coming to DVD and Blu-Ray (Trailer)

Coming to DVD and Blu-Ray on November 10 is the release of the faith-based movie "The Christmas Candle." Based on Max Lucado's 2013 book of the same name, Lucado is a New York Times bestselling author with 100 books and over 80 million copies in print. In 2005, Max Lucado was named "America's Pastor" by Christianity Today and "the Best Preacher in America" by Readers Digest.
Featuring the acting debut of Britian's Got Talent's Susan Boyle, the movie also features Hans Matheson (Clash of the Titans, Sherlock Holmes), Samantha Barks (Les Miserables), Lesley Manville (Disney's A Chistmas Carol), Sylvester McCoy (The Hobbit Trilogy, Doctor Who) and John Hannah (The Mummy, Four Weddings and a Funeral). The film also features Susan Boyle's on-screen singing of film's theme song "Miracle Hymn."
This whimsical Christmas tale warms the heart and delights the eyes! A young minister named David struggles with his faith after a family tragedy. This story takes place quite some time ago and the long dresses and old horses and carriages add to the visuals. The movie has a definite authentic feel to it.
Eventually David goes back into the ministry in a small town. The people of the church have strong traditions and David attempts to do things differently but this doesn't seem to be working. According to a legend, an angel came down and blessed a candle and now whoever lights it and prays will receive an answer from God. David emphasizes that the faith in the prayer is what matters, not a candle in and of itself. When a lady needs a roof David helps out and soon others do too as the people begin to realize that they can be an answer to each other's prayers when they come together as a community. The movie's climactic scene restores the minister's faith in the power of prayer as he finds himself once again desperate for the need of divine intervention.
"This whimsical Christmas tale warms the heart and delights the eyes! We are pleased to award this fabulous movie our Dove 'Family-Approved' Seal for all ages. We encourage everyone to go see "A Christmas Candle" and believe you will want to light one yourself when you're done." Dove Foundation
